Play It Loud at Bell Court this summer

Bell Court is helping people feel good about life this summer with free entertainment from top local bands as well as a string of family-friendly events and fun days, including over the August Bank Holiday.

The mix of events includes outdoor games and sporting tournaments as well as live music. And there are plenty of other reasons to drop by before the end of the summer with sunny al-fresco dining, top lifestyle retailers and family fun to be had.

There will be several different bands performing between now and the first weekend in September, helping the summer to sound sweet as well as loud.

As well as the music performances, even more fun will be taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend on 25-27thAugust. Free ground and aerial circus workshops will be taking place on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday between 2 and 5pm.

So if you ever wanted to join the circus, now is your time to try out your juggling, plate spinning and aerial trapeze skills with instructors and stilt walker on hand to help you hone your new talents – making Bell Court the ideal place to spend time over the Bank Holiday weekend.

While enjoying the great live music, equally bright menus are available from the many cafes and restaurants throughout Bell Court. These include All Bar One, Nando’s, ASK Italian, Veeno, Everyman and Miller & Carter. Plus, there’s locally-made cakes and pastries and family-brewed coffee available at independent floral café, Bardia’s.

Bell Court is not all about fine food and drink however, with those looking to treat themselves able to get their beauty fix at The Naildressers and The Browstudio or pick up a new outfit from Gemini.

With a range of furniture (both indoor and outdoor), soft furnishings, candles and a range of decorative accessories available at Farringdon and Forbes, the perfect hand-picked gift is never far away.

The upcoming music events and circus workshops are all completely free and take place in the vibrant courtyard at the heart of Bell Court, enabling visitors and residents to experience Bell Court in a relaxed yet up-beat setting.

Free Table Tennis Tournament to be held at Bell Court

A free family-friendly Ping Pong fun day is coming to Bell Court in Stratford-upon-Avon at the end of July.

Organised in partnership with JLM Tennis Academy in Evesham, the tournament will be hosted by some of the area’s best table tennis players including Christof Zickert who is currently ranked in the top 150 players in the UK.

Taking place on Saturday 28th July in the central square at Bell Court, the fun day is open to everyone aged between 8 and 14 and will be a chance for young people to learn, play and test their skills against one another.

Kevin Taylor from JLM Tennis Academy, said: “For a few years now we’ve wanted to see table tennis tables be readily available for people to use in Stratford-upon-Avon so, as a club we’re incredibly excited to be hosting this event at Bell Court.

“Our junior membership has grown rapidly over the past 12 months and this tournament is a great opportunity for more young people to come along and try out the sport in a free and friendly environment. All our coaches are fully certified so parents are welcome to come along and drop their children off whilst they shop or relax in Bell Court.”

Registration for the event will take place between 9am and 10am in the Marketing Suite at Bell Court situated between Nandos and Debenhams. This will be followed by three hours of coaching before an afternoon tournament between 2pm and 4pm.

From 4pm, the table tennis tables will be available for all members of the general public to enjoy. There will also be live music from Abi K and The Swing Pigs between 2pm and 4pm.

Following the table tennis fun day, the table tennis tables will be available for people to use free of charge in Bell Court throughout the summer.

The fun day is just one part of a full summer programme of events that includes music and food, family events and outdoor games.

Ping Pong Passion Bounces into Bell Court

A free family-friendly Ping Pong fun day is taking place on 28th July.

Budding table tennis players aged between 8 and 14 will be able to learn, play and test their skills against one another.

All coaches are fully certified so parents can relax, shop and kick-back at Stratford’s premier retail and leisure destination while the youngsters enjoy a day learning more about the sport of table tennis.

The action will start at 9am with registration followed by tips and coaching from some of the area’s best table tennis players including Christof Zickert who is currently ranked in the top 150 players in the UK, before an under-14s afternoon tournament that will run from 2-4pm.

All skill levels are welcome, from regular players to complete beginners. There will be plenty of other activity at Bell Court on the same day, with giant chess and Jenga games and music from Abi K and The Swing Pigs from 2-4pm.

The table tennis tables will also be open to all from 4pm onwards for a bit of evening fun for all to enjoy. The two tables will then remain at Bell Court until the end of the summer.

Bardia’s celebrates first birthday in Stratford-upon-Avon

Popular floral café, Bardia’s is celebrating one year since it first opened its doors at Bell Court in Stratford-upon-Avon and to celebrate, the independent business is inviting all locals and visitors to come and join the party.

To mark the occasion, Bardia’s will be hosting its very own flash dance in Bell Court with more than a nod to owners Sam and Shabnam Ghezelbash’s Greek heritage. Plus, all of Bardia’s profits on the day will be donated to local charity, Shakespeare’s Hospice.

The Zorba’s Dance is commonly played and danced to in Greek tavernas and at wedding celebrations. It is an instrumental by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and featured in the 1964 film Zorba the Greek.

The dance will be performed at Bell Court on Sunday 8th July at 2pm.
