Shakespeare Weekender

Saturday 29th March & Sunday 30th March | 10am-4pm

Experience a weekend of free, fabulous performances, hands-on activities and tonnes of fun as the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust celebrates the end of Shakespeare Week 2025 in style.

This year, SBT is taking over Henley Street and has lots to keep you entertained all day long. From live performances and face painting to hands-on activities to arts and crafts workshops.

Events From History will be leaving the Birthplace Garden for 1 weekend only and performing a unique 20 min performance inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most fearsome women: ‘Lady Macbeth’.

Other activities include:

  • Have your face painted like one of Shakespeare’s mischievous magical friends from the forest of Arden.
  • Design and make your own accessories for your chosen Shakespearean character using reclaimed materials. Will you make a wand for Titania or a staff for Prospero?
  • Create your own puppets to retell Shakespeare’s wonderful stories.
  • Finally, strike a pose in the photo booth to show off your make and take creations.
  • All activities are suitable for all ages and are free to take part in.
