The circus comes to Stratford!

The circus came to Stratford this Bank Holiday weekend as Bell Court hosted a series of ground and aerial workshops, which saw people juggling, spinning plates, tight-rope walking and even tumbling through the air on a trapeze!

Toby Saggers, Asset Manager at UK & European Investments, the owners of Bell Court, said: “The Bank Holiday Weekend at Bell Court was just brilliant. We had a fantastic turn out, with hundreds turning up to get involved in our circus workshops. The music added a great atmosphere, and Rozie T and her troop of dancers were amazing as always. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!”

Sarah Smith, from Circus Mash, added: “The circus workshops at Bell Court this weekend went down a treat with local families. Even with the weather not quite doing what we wanted, the turnout was fantastic and we had many mastering the art of the trapeze! We absolutely loved sharing our circus skills at Bell Court – there are definitely some budding circus performers in Stratford-upon-Avon!”

Local arts and print retailer ‘pops-up’ at Bell Court!

Bell Court welcomes its first pop-up shop to the centre this summer – local arts and print retailer, Talesmith.

Launching on 13 August, Talesmith will offer a range of hand crafted print and design products such as, greeting cards, prints and bespoke gifts. Set up by local couple George Jillard and Jamie McGinn, Talesmith is a welcome addition to the centre and will be the first of many pop-up shops going forward.

John Stacey, Asset Management Director at UK & European Investments, the owners of Bell Court, said: “Talesmith is the ideal retailer to launch our pop-up offering. The development is already becoming a key leisure destination in Stratford and having high quality and unique retailers such as Talesmith open, will further bolster Bell Court’s popularity with both local residents and tourists.

“This is the first of a number of pop-up shops that will be opening at Bell Court and we’re hoping to announce further businesses in the coming weeks.”

Based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Talesmith was founded by couple George and Jamie who launched the business just nine months ago. After two friends became engaged, they struggled to find the perfect engagement present, a framed personalised print for them to celebrate their New York engagement – so they created their own and Talesmith was born.

Jamie McGinn, co-founder of Talesmith, said: “We’re very much looking forward to bringing our prints and designs to Bell Court. As local residents, we have a real passion for the area and couldn’t think of a better place to launch our first pop-up shop.

“We’re amazed at how quickly Talesmith has taken off online and know that our shop in Bell Court will lead to plenty more opportunities for us.”

Talesmith will be open from 13 August until 2 September and will be located in the main square, opposite Nando’s. Other retailers at Bell Court include Debenhams and Lush, as well as independent businesses including Farringdon & Forbes, Magic Alley, Bardia’s, The Naildressers and The Browstudio.
